found me an 86 taurus lx 3.0 loaded (at least for the time it was around). with 50K miles.
it is leaking some fluid (clear yet slightly oily) thinking it is power steering fluid. but engine is really strong, will be getting up under her this weekend to take a peek.

need to find someone with a carfax report so i can see what the history on her is.

Finally won't be putting 100 miles a day on the SVT smile

just wish it would of had the 3.8 instead of the 3.0......but visions of 3.0 conversion are jumping in my head. smile

I had a password but it expired yesterday. frown

I think that 3L is a bit too old for a transplant, you need a DOHC version. Talk to Rick and or Brad Noon about details.

Yes that's P/S fluid

Like Eric said you have the pushrod Vulcan engine, not the DOHC Duratec.

They are nice beaters... :p Parts are cheap and common... laugh

I just got a beater too (see sig)! How much did you pay for the Taurus?

paid 400 for it.
runs like a champ.
and just keep telling myself, when driving the taurus to work, "you are saving miles on the SVT" and at 100 miles a day. they were racking up pretty quick.
