The mods would consist of lowering springs, tint windows, and 18" Cobra R's.
From what I've seen at the track, the 99+ Cobras are slightly slower than the 98 and below Cobras. Yes, the 99+ Cobras did gain a slight increase in power, but it wasn't remotely enough power to offset the 175lb gain in weight for the independant rear end. The 99+ Cobras weigh a whopping 3550lbs!!! If you are gonna get a new Cobra, don't buy a 99. All of them have been fixed, but they just don't seem to run well. I have yet to see a NA 99 Cobra go any faster than a 14.2@99mph, and that's with mods. I raced a 2001 Cobra at KCIR. I ran a 14.6@97 to his 13.9@102mph with a horrible 2.4 60 foot (IRS induced wheelhop). A well driven 98 Cobra with a 4.10 gear, X-pipe, MAF, K&N filter, resonators removed, and drag radials should be good for mid to higher 13s. A few guys have gone 13.0s with this setup. Dave

Sammy...Sammy...Sammy. Where should I start? Man I have been through some of this sh*t. One of the happiest days of my relationship with Trish was the day I picked up my SVT. We were estatic. We still remember that even though she's gone. (The SVT, not Trish) I miss he car alot. It more looks than any Stang I owned. These are some rare cars and that's what makes these things so freaking expensive to work on, modify, and in our case....repair. When it comes down to it you need a car that can handle 300-plus horsepower w/o putiing too much strain on the car. Get an Electric Green 99 Cobra. They are fast and beautiful and stick out like a sore thumb. Let me know how much you are selling the stang for. I am interested. Good-luck man. If these guys accepted sleepysvt back then you damn-well they are taking PhatSVT back Keep us posted on what you get and how your sales do. Later bro...Ryan

Stang is going for $4K. Not bad for a beast that runs mid 13's.

I'm still alive but have missed out on the talks here!!!! Sam If your gonna Sell them both bad boys, I would really look at getting a new lightning or the 20003 Cobra or Mach 1. I would not go any other way in you search. Those are the three choices that you wanna go. Just think the 2003 Cobra is just as fast as the over priced Saleens and Rousch stage III. 12.6's@110 into a head wind on stock tires. That is not slicks and that is power you will have on tap to use to put down any SS(super slow) Z28(zippidey) or Vette ect.... Insurance I know is a question but take a look and figure your move. Some times the best moves are impulse and you might just need the change. You can always all a brother

A new Mach 1 would be nice. Cobra motor with a live axle! Just what you need so it doesn't BREAK... They even threw in a few Bullit pieces just for you even... Much more affordable then a Cobra or Lightning too! Also you will get much better interest rates on a new car vs any used car... Just don't even think about getting a Saleen (recycled junk) or Rousch (way overpriced)
