Seeing that you guys have a bit more experience with high winding motors, I was wondering if you could take a look at this dyno plot for me and tell me if the extended useable rpm will help. What you are looking at is a JDM variable intake manifold installed on a 97 Maxima 5 speed. The US-spec manifold isn't variable and runs out of steam at 5500rpms. This manifold is taking power to 6500rpms. The odd thing is that the manifold doesn't gain any extra peak power, instead it just holds on to the power for a bit longer. The plot shows the difference between the butterflies engaged and closed thru the run.
Even though the manifold isn't gaining any more peak power, I think the car will be quicker because we can ride the power to redline and won't have to shift to 4th in the 1/4 mile. Let know what you think.
