Something you may want to do before you head out is try to figure out what class you are in. Stock SVT Contours and Contour/Mystique V6s are in GS (G Stock). Adding a short-throw shifter or aussie bar will put you in STS. Installing a $3000 car audio system to an otherwise stock car will keep you in GS.

modification comparison table really helps me understand the mods allowed between the classes. These are both Some Guy's web page so can't vouch for their accuracy. Everything I've looked at has been correct, though. If nothing else, I think MFE will be doing tech and he knows pretty much everything.
