Back to the original topic. I did love my borla when I had it on my car and I'm sure Bill is enjoying it now! However the borla will run you about $550. The only real good cheap upgrade is to install the SVT exhaust and it sounds like you have got a limited budget to do it with. Heck, if you are in Iowa sometime I can take about an hour and install it for you too.

sorry, contrary to public opinion, i think borla's a little to much $$ for me. Can i not just pop in a performance muffler?

Still stock crush bent 2" piping with crappy resonator. SVT exhaust is a great upgrade for a regular Duratec! It really is a well made system. It's just compromised by the baffled mufflers and the horrendous resonator. (Sounds great though!)

What about a dynomax muffler? you guys may say that its cheap, but hey, that's what im lookin for.

As everyone else is trying to tell you, it's not the muffler that is killing the exhaust, it's the whole system. To get any gains worth spending your $ on you've got to upgrade the whole system. I'd say you're better off to keep your $ than to put a muffler on a stock single exhaust.

even if im just pretty much goin for sound? i mean, im not gonna burn too many people on my way to class everyday. I don't neccesarily need power and performance. just wanna sound cool.
