It has come to my attention that Bill Jenkins is taking an interview
with your dealership on Monday. I wanted to take a moment to give my
recommendation for hiring Bill.
Over this past summer, I had to replace the engine in my 1998 SVT
Contour. I chose to install a 3 liter engine block with the useable
parts from my old (blown) engine. Although I purchased my block
elsewhere, Bill was recommended to me by members of the Contour
Enthusiasts Group (
www.contour.org) as a good parts source for
miscellaneous parts that I would come to need. Bill was very helpful in
determining the correct parts when I called him with some rather vague
descriptions of what I needed, especially when determining if the part I
needed came from the 2.5L or 3.0L engine or was common to both. He took
the time to get it right and even arranged direct overnight shipping
from Ford warehouses if the part was not in stock at his dealership. In
one case, I needed a few small pieces of hardware and we were unsure
which parts were appropriate. He faxed exploded assembly drawings so I
could take them to the shop where the work was being done so we could
determine exactly what I needed.
Based on the attention and care given to my orders, I have purchased any
parts I have needed for my car since then from Bill even though I live
less than 10 minutes from two different Ford dealerships. Compared to
the blank stares and general confusion I commonly receive at my local
Ford dealerships' parts departments, Bill's professionalism and courtesy
is a welcome change.
