No need to be embarrassed Fishe! I'm far from the protective husband type, so no worries. Indeed I have taught her a few things about how high rpm's are a good thing, and how the SVT is made for such high-speed driving, and she seems to be learning well. She's not afraid of speed either (as you noticed), which may stem from riding around with me for the last 6 years or so smile.

As for her not autocrossing, I think she has that fear of making a fool of herself. I know that she wouldn't, and I may yet get her out there one day. Sold the dedicated autocrosser though (85 MR2) :(, so I may have to get her out there in the SVT next year. I'll be in a black WRX wagon, by the way.

My wife would do serious damage to me if I didn't wear my wedding band.

But if you have a 98 T-Red SVT ridding you ass going either way on Nall, that's my wife. She likes to pass at the last possible second. Thinking about putting a brush on the front so she can clean the bumpers of the cars in front of her!

BTW, anytime I am in the car with her, I am behind the wheel.

Hope to see you both autocrossing next year! This is funny - I have a 98.5 SVT and my husband has a 2002 blue WRX wagon. Tell your wife she doesn't need to worry about the fool factor. From what I've read she'll be faster than me, and what matters (at least the first time) is not coming in last, right? smile

That's interesting that you and your husband have the same cars as we do Marla. I think the SVT to the WRX is a logical progression, so perhaps there will be more SVT/WRX families to come? I think I've seen you two out there several times. I used to autocross an old white ratty looking MR2. #61 if that rings any bells. I hope to get Amy out there one of these days. I doubt she'd be as fast as you, but I'm sure with a little practice she'd be competitive. She's got the speed and shifting down, just needs to learn the curves.

Besides, out of respect for Buckshot's car, we must give the suspension a workout once in awhile!

Amen to that. I only got a little while to give that suspension a good work out. Phil, did I tell you I ended up ruining two of the konis in the wreck? One bent the bottom of the strut tube, the other will no longer adjust. Problem is one is driver front (bent) and one is passenger rear (non-adjust). Weird huh
