98 svt contour.
problems include: clutch cable went out first 5 months I had it ( im hard on it ) ford wanted $608 for the part alone.. said I had to buy the whole cable kit. so I went to ford lincoln mercury and bought the part for 60 bucks :O)~
new problem is very rough idling ford said its a character of contours that the motor mounts wear??
adn now the big one.. out of nowhere started idling 400-700 back and forth adn felt like it was running off 3 cylinders.. had to keep rpms really high to go anywhere adn it wanted to stall.. 3 mechanics later and now 4 days after ford has it adn they have no clue whats wrong :O( they say I need to put the stock air box back on so they can "properly diagnose the problem" end quote???? oh well

Name...Doug Harlow
Email...DrGonzo767@aol.com
'Tour...95 SE 2.5 mtx
POS Engine...rod bearing, 74k
Other POS elements...2 mass airflow sensors, intake cleaned twice, catalytic converter, repacement c. con. staring to go bad, driver seat is breaking, pass. seat has been broke forever, water pump at 66k, alternator 75k.
Dealers...Lester Ford, Central City KY, rip-off artists, took 3 weeks to replace cat, took 4 weeks to replace engine, at least they provided a loaner, very dishonest, charged me more than quoted one time (only $50 on that $4400 engine bill, but still dishonest), a bunch of hillbilly motherfu@$ers, like everyone else in Central City, too bad a meteor didn't smash into their service dep't last weekend..........Turnpike Ford, Huntington WV, exlempary service, reminds me of the Infiniti dealer that I trusted with my Maxima

1996 Mercury Mystique GS 58,676

New timing belt
New transmission at 44k 11/99
New engine at 58,500k 11/01
Turn signal device replaced 11/01
(not functioning properly, after engine was put in...signals flickered and clicked when car was running and the lever wasnt engaged- Ford paid for it, cost me nothing- $394)

Ford put in a brand new 16V DOHC engine in my car, it was agreed upon that all i had to pay was the labor costs (@$2,300), because of the defect which ford is responsible for.
