It sure is.

The iodine stays pretty local to the thyroid, since it's pretty much the only part of our body that uses iodine to any major degree. It typically doesn't even effect the muscles, skin, etc surrounding the thyroid.

Can you imagine being a doc and trying this treatment for the first time? Yikes!
