Ya, for one thing, you're not gonna fit anything bigger under that. You might want an insulated spade terminal. That way you don't have to twist the wires to get them underneath the screws and worry about them coming out and frying something. Usually comes in a wiring kit.

This'll show you where I ran my amp wires in my Cougar, however they had been removed long before. However it'll let you get the basics. Wiring is easy to install. Had a little trouble on the Contour with removing the screws and trim panels. The seats got in the way. Run the power wire up the easiest side (side with battery, where you'll run it, and where the amp will be). Run the RCAs up the other side. I ran the power wire through the steering column boot to make it the easiest with no drilling required.
