Came from Ford w/ the 2.3L. They offered it starting in '03 in CA, NY (and 1 other "green" state). Starting in '04 it was available in all states as an option. It's a really nice engine...and it has a timing chain so no belts to replace like the 2.0L Focus Zetec.
