No. The generic $80 main converter was suggested to reduce environmental and noise pollution (as opposed to gutted main cat).
Mileliminators ($30) are what you need to trick the PCM into "thinking" that the pre-cats are fine, i.e, send a signal to the PCM that the precats are working fine (or you could just put in new precats).
