How an o2 sensor works
ââ?¬Å?The oxygen sensor is positioned in the exhaust pipe and can detect rich and lean mixtures. The mechanism in most sensors involves a chemical reaction that generates a voltage (see the patents below for details). The engine's computer looks at the voltage to determine if the mixture is rich or lean, and adjusts the amount of fuel entering the engine accordingly. ââ?¬Å?

By not allowing the exhaust gases to pass over the nozzle of the o2 sensor it will not be able to send a signal voltage to the computer and the check engine light should remain on even with the mil eliminators.

Just plug the 02 sensor in, wrap it with something protective, and zip-tie it to the subframe.

So you dont have to have any exhaust gasses pass the sensor to create the voltage reading the computer needs??

It just has to be plugged in (with the MIL eliminator inline) from what I understand. The MIL eliminator gives it the fake readings and it's gotta still be plugged in so the o2 sensor will still be seeing air (although not exhaust gas). Atleast that's how I understand it.

Plugged in at the connector. Correct. There is a lot of O2 (21%) in the air that we breath for the O2 sensor to switch on and off.
