It was a sarcastic remark.  Not meant to make fun of Nissan, but of the people who always say Japanese vehicles have little or no recalls compared to domestics. The first vehicle I owned was a Datsun and to this day, I have fond memories of it.
A little sensitive about Japanese cars, are we?
