Make fun if you want, but I wouldn't make fun of Nissan's Altima, which is a mass produced car having the potential for some engine problem when your dear FOMOCO built several Ford GTs with a improper finish on an engine component that cuased major oil leakage. Oh yeah, how did Ford fix that problem? I'll give you a clue, they didn't replace the engines like Nissan did, they used a "Speedy Sleeve" to correct the problem. Pretty half assed fix for such an expensive flagship car if you ask me.

Anyway, back to the topic. I did hear about a engine replacement program and extended powertrain warranty on some '06 Altimas. I guy that I worked with had one and he had his engine replaced under the program. So did one of his friends who had a '06 Altima. I'd say the car is fine, and if the price is good, your friend should go for it.
