just to kind of add to the argument, if you shop right you can have a nice retrofit for under $400-$500. Not much more than the $200-$300 you are paying for your HID kit.
not much difference in price but a HUGE difference in light output, even if you don't mind putting an HID kit in a reflector housing there is no possible way that you can argue about the light output and beam pattern. it just doesn't compare period...
however if you could care less about other people on the road then carry on...
