first yeah, I have been a contour.org member for a long time, and have been email subscriber for a couple of years too. I havent been to the meets because I just never had the time to fit it in somehow
I did take my contour with me on a 914 run once, that was great fun. Especially the hill climb with a bunch of old Porsches. It was amazing to see the differences in handling between an old Porsche and a newer car like ours. In a lot of ways the contour held its own, but in the end the agility of the ol 914 made it no contest on the real tight stuff. I do have some pics from the event.
The coupe is def way hot. I dont know why exactly but the Z4 and Boxster (Caymen) both look gorgeous to me. However if given the choice between a coupe and convertible I would go or the drop top everytime. There is only so much torsional rigidity and less weight can do for me to offset not being able to put the top down when it is beautiful out.
Thanks for the comments btw. black/red was not my first choice but living with it I have grown to love it and do not look back ever.
