So I was about to purchase a PC, but my dad informed me that he had an old random orbit polisher laying around in the garage. He gave it to me. In a Wen car care random orbit car waxer (8 inches).
The specs are:
Rated amperage: 1.6
Pad orbit: 5/32"
Orbit speed-O.P.M. (MAX): 8400
Bonnet size: 8"
This is a 10" unit, but it looks the same as mine except for the pad. The pad on mine is all black, a somewhat hard foam, but it still gives a little. Anyway:
The company that made it also seems to not exist anymore.
Now I realize this may not be as maneuverable as the PC because of its shape and size, but will this be OK? I was thinking that because its a random orbit, it would be power detailing newbie safe, but Im not sure. And the last thing I want to do is fugg up my paint. Would this work for polishing too? Should I ditch the freebie and buy a PC anyway?
Really if I could just use it for waxing (which seems to be its intended purpose), I would keep it around for a while. Give my arms a break, and that would get me waxing my car more often. Ill leave it for you to decide. Pete? Roger?
