Another thing, F-bodys and Corvettes don't get terrible gas mileage on the highway. I think the '02 SS got like 28 mpg highway. You can thank that wonderful Tremec 6-speed for that.

Production is the operative word here and there is no telling what Ford may have in the back room for future use. Until this engine makes its way out into a production car, all of this hypothisising is moot.  Karl

Okay. I'll admit you are right to a certain degree, however, as long as Ford keeps piling on the pounds, the GT500 won't be as competitive as it could be, regardless of engine strength. I have heard there will be a new Ford 351ci. Does that tell you something?
