A friend of mine had a 97 SE (I miss that blue) 5-speed and I drove it a few times. The SVT has way more torque in the 1800-3200rpm range.

You've got a very, very good deal ! Probably the dealer wanted to get the car out of his lot.

The point is that you can't get a new SVT right now even for $30K.

I think at $16K with such a low mileage, the price is right, as long as the car is in excellent condition.

To Eric, Unit-04 and Ryan:

Chris wants a CSVT and he can't get a new one anymore REGARDLESS of the price he is willing to pay. Of course $16K would have been a bit high if the CSVT was still available.

And you can't offer a Focus SVT to Chris who WANTS a CSVT even if the FSVT is way under $30K ! For that, he must first like the Focus. Does he ? smile
