no its not. but I think he made that specifically because some people requested it. you can of course get the other that retains the stock MAF housing.
and concerns with the "plastic". Its lexan [also known as polycarbonate]. it wont splinter if something catastropic happens, in fact its rather difficult to crack it.
I really wouldnt be all that worried about it over heating. lexan's pretty tolerant to heat. I use to use it on my battlebots. Those electric motors have melted alot of components but never affected the lexan skin. You should have alot of warning if your hood temp is too high for the lexan [but if thats the case, you probably have an engine fire]. Under high heat [and relative humidity], the lexan will "frost" over [its actually millions of microscopic air bubbles that develop].
I've seen his intake in person, personally, its not my thing but it was really nicely done and I would not hesitate to recommend it [the non-maf version that is]
