The buyer simply did not get enough info about the car before he invested time and money into going to buy it. I would have asked for pictures all around, and would have seen the disgustingly dirty inside of the car as well as the wire in foil and any other problems. After seeing pictures, no doubt I wouldn't have wasted any more time talking to the guy.

However, the seller is without a doubt, 100% a scammer. He advertised the car as "no serious problems". I don't think I've ever met a mechanic that's of the opinion that misfiring in 2 cylinders is not a serious problem, not to mention all the other CEL's. The fact that the CEL light was not working or not present obviously indicates a cover-up. Advertising that POS for $3.6K? Give me a break. In that condition, it's not even worth a grand. This has scam written all over it.

The wife's replies cracked me up. She said all kinds of bullsh*t but never actually answered the question as to why the CEL wasn't there or why her husband supposedly didn't know about the 8 codes, trying to claim that it wasn't removed.

What a bunch of crap. *popcorn*
