The DX/Z7590 has 10x optical zoom, so it's more than capable. It also has 3x digital, but as stated in the above post, picture quality suffers once you're into the digital. A good tripod will negate a lot of the problems of the dig. zoom, but not all.

The Kodak also has a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, which from what I've read is supposed to be a really good lens.
