Could be. But a label also has to do with a title, I mean, like the last guy said. If you have a high up job that requires massive nerdy computer skills you would probably label that person as a computer geek.
For example, I recently was talking to one of my friends about college, I proceeded to tell them I was majoring in networking technology and information administration. They got really excited and said "OOOH so you are really good with comptuers... Want to fix mine for me?"
Just becaue of my major at school (even though I havent attended school yet) they automatically assumed I knew how to fix computers with hardware or software related problems, which is true, but even before they knew what I do as my side job (which is in fact repair/upgrade/build computers).
