There is defintely a shift going on with the Contours. The posters on the CEG and car owners are getting younger and younger.

There are still a bunch of true Contour enthusiasts around, heaven help them. JK.

My wife and I bought our '98 Duratec brand new in 1998. We also had a '96 Zetec for a few years like '01 and '02. For us the amount of repairs that were constantly needed and the high cost of those repairs made it not feasible to continue being Contour owners.

But my wife's little brother who was 10 in 1998 always liked our car. He just bought a CSVT from a ceg'er and is trying to keep it running. He loves it though.

Our family is a good example of the shift in Contour ownership.

This can be said of so many great cars that are still considered great.

Early 911s, old C and E-type Jags, any number of "small British Cars (SBCs)," BMWs, etc.

Automitive technology continues to improve, allowing more power from smaller, more efficient packages, and sportscar-like handling (via stiffer, safer chassis) from "unlikely" vehicles.

The fact that a current Honda Odyssey minivan can beat a late-60s 911E on an autocross course does not diminish the 911 in any way.

Likewise, the SVT Contour will always be a classic, at least to a knowledgeable few.

That is so wrong.

Should'a sold her to a CEGer. I'm sure someone on here would have bought her.
