Here's a picture of the last set I will EVER do. They just aren't worth my time anymore. Maybe I should just offer the cutting open service since that is the hard part?
I don't bake, and I don't paint the blinker reflecting cup.

Wetsand the chrome off. It comes off very easily. You will have problems if you try to paint over it.

So people can pay you to do it the stupid way (my opinion) or they can bake them open themselves for free

what do you mean by baking the headlights open?....i was told that by using a hairdryer you could break open the seal...is that the same thing as baking?...or is there another method you could inform me about?...thanks

Never tried using a hairdryer... interesting. I would imagine that would take forever and a day though. There is actually a how-to that Pete put up after I ranted and raved about hwo cuting the headlights open was about the dumbest thing you could do to perform the so called hightower mod. You can use an oven to bake them open, which is efficient and if done correctly completely harmless to the lights. I'll see if I can find the how-to that Pete did based off my instructions.
Alright I found them... orignal post about the debating of the cutting vs. baking is here
Then when someone actually tried it my way... they made a how-to about it, which is here

You moron that's why you DON't wetsand. Wetsanding is for smoothness and will make it so the paint doesn't adhere. If you really want to get rid of the chrome, DRY sand with 100, 150, 200, 220 sand paper, primer and paint .

Might want to be careful throwing 'moron' around. Wetsanding isn't just for smoothness. It is also for keeping your sandpaper free of build-up, making it last longer. It also keeps the dust from getting in the air and in your (not moronic) lungs. You can wetsand with any grit paper, not just the higher grits.

I suggest you read up on proper painting techniques before spewing your stupity on the subject. Meanwhile, why don't you go sit with the other kids while the adults talk.
