Truck sales are down hugely this year across the board, anywhere from 20 to 50% depending on the model. GM truck sales are down three-hundred thousand units over last year. So obviously "the next person" isn't buying them right now either.

Right now the best that GM can hope for with a new truck is stealing sales from Ford, Dodge, and the new Tundra, in an ever-decreasing market for trucks. Fighting for scraps basically.
