It is easy to attach a zetec to a good many fwd, rwd, and awd trannies with existing ford parts, but not much has been tried with the duratec so the information is not out there.
But what would be the point of that? It's a Zetec.
I was just trying to say that if you are trying to make a faster car/ more high performance car (RWD, etc.) why would you start with a I4 engine.
But whatever, to each his own.
To each his own is right, and i understand what your saying but like others said. Srt4, EVO....slap a turbo on them and they go.

Well, I don't think a Duratec would fit well in this RWD application...

It would beinteresting to try on one of those on a RWD focus. It would be a lot more balanced then the 351w I've seen.
Im looks like someone put a duratec in a caterham kit car.

You've never ridden in a Caterham with a Zetec, I guess. Absolutely FLIES, revs like a blender, doesn't take up much space, and it's obviously rear-drive.

I think the Miata with the 3L Duratec used an RX-7 tranny for RWD. They made an adapter plate for it to work.
