Actually, that isn't bad. Ford held it's own domestically with a far lower incentive structure and had substantial gains in the passenger car market. The 2Q2006 loss is due to extraordinary charges, like the restructuring and pension losses. Without them, Ford would have been profitable.
It is also a fraction of GM's charges-caused loss.
