It looks like you did not finish or understand my post. I understand that you imply the advertising dollars of magazines such as C&D go right into the pockets of the road test editors. I used to read CR when I was 12, but it quickly fell out of my favor. The editors are not car enthusiasts and the articles about cars (any of them) do not agree with my own experiences, likes, and dislikes. Facts are not what makes me spend hard earned money to buy a depreciating asset. Opinions & enthusiasim do.

Agreed though, the CL is a completely different story and CR misses the point on a lot of products.

my 2000 3.2 TL kicks butt!!! and i like fancy hondas. i have better warranty, nicer leather, more horse power, five speed automatic and a great resale value. in 3 years and 31k miles of driving, all i have spent on my car is about 9 oil changes. it does 0-60 in 6.7 seconds and beats my sons 1s300 and his wifes bmw330 and gets way better gas mileage. wish it had the style of the bmw.

APT,
You have taken a small part of my post and have taken it out of context. Do you work for CNN? Please read the entire post this time! I am sure that a magazine that accepts advertising from a car manufacturer would have to walk a thin line to rate a manufacturer's car badly and expect to keep on getting advertising dollars. I do not want to debate this. I am not saying that CR is any better at rating cars. I do not want to debate this either. I would read as much as you can but IT TAKES A TEST DRIVE TO FIND OUT IF THE CAR WILL WORK FOR YOU (THIS IS THE MAIN POINT). For me, 80% of my decision in buying a car that I can afford is the test drive. The other 20% comes from magazines, Internet, friends, etc. Good luck to you if you give any magazine too much credit in helping you buy a car. I really do not want to discuss CR and other magazine's car evaluations since I take their recommendations like a grain of salt. I do read them, most of the time for entertainment.
