Folks, I could not locate a question similar to mine, on this forum. If there is one, please do not flame me! Anyway, I found a Torsen T-2 LSD for 390 dollars. However, the website requires that the LSD be ordered for a certain number of splines in the tranny. The URL is: http://www.clearimageautomotive.com/Products/Drivetrain.htmQUESTIONS: 1) What ARE splines? 2) How many does my 96 Contour GL-Sport with 2.0l (and MTX-75) have? Thanks, Shamun

I don't think that is the one you want to buy. I'm pretty sure you want the Torsen T2R that they have on there. If it sounds to good to be true it probably is. The lowest price I've ever seen on a Torsen was $495. $390 is another hundrend off and it sounds like it's not what your looking for. In any case the splines are the number of teeth so-to-speak on the end of the drive shafts. I don't know how many they have. It's to bad you didn't post this a week ago I would have had one sitting in my garage.

agreed, that website sucks. find somewhere else to buy an LSD from, because thats WAY to cheap to be legit.

Not to mention, Torsen is no longer producing an LSD for the MTX-75 since Ford commissioned them to make and hold the rights to the part and have pulled the plug.

Clear Image doesn't sell any parts for Fords anyway.
