Statistically, Pit Bulls, Rotweilers Dobermans have more "incidents" of aggressive behavior than other breeds. That is why most homeowners insurance requires a separate rider if you own one of these breeds. That being said, they are some of the sweetest dogs I have ever found. My wife had a Pit before we got married and he was a sweet heart (but he was a helluva lot more protective of her that our Yellow Lab).
