Some guy built a sick car (which is nothing like a kart at all) and can drive it. If any of your hopped in that machine, and gave that guy the keys to your 'tour, he'd whoop you.
WTH? It wasn't a crack. It was my opinion. This is the first time I saw the post. I have no idea why your post is filled with anger.

Your post was pointless. You stated that you'd rather see a street car run because it's slower than a shifter kart. So what?

Certainly did not. It's more impressive than a purpose built shifter kart. That some kid took his daily driver and turned it into a great handling AutoX car. Pretty hard not to suck at driving that kart.

"It's more impressive than a purpose built shifter kart. " It's not even close to a shifter kart. Shifter karts have no suspension, relatively low power, no downforce, and are bought, not made. "Pretty hard not to suck at driving that kart. " AM cars are rediculously hard to drive. Again: if that guy drove your Contour, and you drove that beast, he would win. Plus, it's much harder to make something like that handle well than a street car. With my car I have to worry about alignment, spring rates, swaybar, and damping. He has way, way more to deal with: there's no design factor that he didn't have to engineer carefully to make it as fast as possible.

I doubt that 100%. You haven't seen me drive. You'll never change my mind so you can stop. That thing is a hell of a lot easier to get around the cones than a car ever will.

Some numbers for you all from http://www.brr-scca.org/CommonwealthGames2006.html
Me:
Sat raw: 52.046
Sat PAX: 43.630
Sun raw: 50.126
Sun PAX: 42.006
Todd Bowland:
Sat raw: 39.587
Sun raw: 37.582
That's ownership.
He was Fastest time PAX with an index of 1.000. Think about that. It isn't a cart, it has a real suspension (fancy custom Konis), Hoosier slicks, a 3 cylinder Arctic Cat snowmobile engine, and so much downforce that it has to be trailered in a closed trailer. This is the car that the AM PAX is based on.
Only one car was under four seconds back PAXwise from Todd, and he has the cush STS PAX and is in the spec STS car and does national events.
Whirling dervish of FFOG.

This thread is now officially lame.
Function before fashion.
