Or, if you have taken a high school economics class you could figure out that raising the minimum wage results in lost jobs. A company that pays minimum wage isn't going to magically pull more money out of a hat when the minimum wage is raised, so they are going to have to fire some people and divy up the money that went to paying them to the people they keep. Great for some people, not so great for others.
