Why does the car have several colors? Has it been in an accident?
This may effect my betting.
Seriously, good luck. It sounds like you did a good thing helping your Aunt out. Hopefully kharma will pay you back on your trip.
I voted on the poll for you to make it home without a scratch.

Why didn't you decide to sell the car and fly home instead? Is the aunt staying in Boston when you leave? sucks to hear about the cancer and her treatment.

I am saying overheating driving into Denver will lead to blown Head gasket. That is where My parents van always overheated.

You will NOT make it to LA. The head gasket will blow on day 2.
Who wants to start a pool??
just plan a route with some greyhound stations along the way. sounds liek a fun road trip regardless.
Don't underestimate an old import motor. I had a 92 subaru loyale i used to use for work. It burned more oil than any car i've ever driven. The good news was it didn't even need oil! You just had to keep it wet!
Seriously though, I put like 50,000 HARD miles on that thing, and it is still in use. Has to have over 200k on it now. Original clutch too.

I dunno, I'm picking the long shot and seeing them home. It's a Corolla...if it's built like that Toyota Hilux on Top Gear, it'll make it.

It's a corolla, you can't kill those things.
We should start a pool.

Rolling around the flat lands is one thing, but once they hit the Rockies it's gonna have a hard time in a lot of areas. The 'yota will get damn hot through Colorado and Utah, and the fact it's 105ish won't help at all Getting to the 5 from SLC, they'll have to take 80 through Reno and THAT drive sucks monkey balls. It'd be way better to venture through Vegas and onward to LA.

Just a guess, but you mean Los Angeles, not Lower Alabama?
