Or maybe like my father who lost his factory job after 26 fuggin' years - and there are no other sugar refineries around, nor any similar places that could take on a 52 year old person whose skillset revolves around an industry that's become pretty much fully automated. So trying to keep giving the best to his family he ran up his bills hoping brighter skies would come, but they haven't yet.
