Is anyone running with only one license plate? Have the cops given you a lot of grief? I'm planning on taking mine off.

u can try it but if they feel like messing with u u'll get a fixit ticket.....yrs ago i bought a vw gti w/o front plate or holder on the front....i got pulled over one day by a very bored cop and i had to go buy the holder from the dealer and show police that i had fixed it
when i got my tour last yr the dealer gave me a cool plate for the front with thier name on it and i drove for months without the front plate and was never stopped....i finally put it on because my pops (since passed) kept buggin me to put it on so i did it to keep him from stressing about it
95 contour se...dark blue...monsterflow air filter...remanuf atx...wiring harness recall or bust!!!96k miles...motorcraft awsf32pp plugs & red ford racing 9mm wires...kvr black plated cross-drilled rotors & carbon fiber pads...currently undergoing renovation...excuse our dust!!! are my dodgers for real????

I may be jinxing myself, but I've had my car for five years next month, never had the front plate mounted, and have only gotten one ticket for no front plate, which was part of my speeding ticket. That was three years ago.

My car didn't even come with a front plate or a place to put it. Needless to say, I don't go out of my way to "stand out" from the rest of the traffic. No need to tempt Providence! Karl

I have been running without one for over three years on my slammed, tricked out SVT. No tickets in this car ever! Knock on wood!

Okay, maybe I'm getting a little too carried away on this. But would there be any way to mount the plate holder with a couple of screws from the underneath? Why? So when you get a ticket, you re-mount the holder back on, have the ticket signed off, and then be able to remove the holder and have no holes in the front of the bumper.
I think this would be a cool idea. But there is a line you cross that changes from something cool to something too rediculous to bother on.

yes, i already have "L" brackets ready for such an occassion. i plan on mounting the brackets from the bottom of the bumper, and then bolting the plate to that, so i have no holes on the front....
