I feel the need to push the company line.... Build a Core 2 Duo System, experience a "Leap Ahead".
Or if you want fast, get a Prescott and overclock it to 5GHz.

I doubt core duos are going to be especially affordable at this point. I'd take a look at this article before you make up your mind about AMD vs. Intel. A 4.1 GHz Dual Core at $130 - Can it be True?

I don't think he wants to spend that kind of money (if you read what he is building above).

As great of a processer the Core 2 Duo is.... Id rather go AMD. for two reasons, I have been running AMD processors since the Duron. I loved my Duron 800 mhz costed nothing to purchase and ran everything very well. So I from there went to an Athlon 1.33 T-bird. Which was great, but ran very warm, so I went to the barton 2500+ and have been very happy with the performance, im still happy with it... I just plan to start gaming on the PC again, so im upgrading it. I went with an athlon 64 3500+ because its a considerably upgrade with a retail warrenty for only $100. PLus the motherboard Im choosing is ready for athlon 64 X2's so if I get some extra cash Ill pick up one of those Plus I want to run the 64 bit Windows XP... Or rather, Vista when that comes out soon.

They are cheaper than I thought, well for the bottom end one. I guess they start shipping Thursday?
Personally, I gave up on Intel after my PII-450, although it is nice to see them making a product that is competative for once.
