Ever since Ford has owned them.
Isnt Ford's stake only 34%?
No chance I would purchase this magazine and there is a reason why it does not exist, no one cares!

Well they are based on Ford's platforms and are included in their pricing plans to an extent. (They have there own name for the plan, but if you get a Ford discount you get one for Mazda, so the stake must be high enough)

Ford has enough to be considered "controlling". i think adding miatas, 6s, 3s and that new whatever its called would be good. plus the out of production models. even though they stopped the srt4 neon doesnt mean there arent 100k of them out there being built as we speak. i think if the mag is well mixed up with reprsentations from all of the domestic crowds there is enough to last for quite some time. the focus mag only "focused" (no pun intended, well maybe...) on foci which had to end eventually. had they left it open to compact fords then they could have included the fusion as well, not there is a HUGE market there either. that's why there needs to be a mag that includes ALL the domestics. there's enough info on CEG alone to fill a year's worth of mags! i could see plenty of how-tos on stereo, suspension, FI section, etc.... some good articles on domestic shoot-outs and comparos.
good idea. good luck, youre gonna need it!

If you start including Mazdas then you have to add anything that is partly owned by a company based in the US. It is still a Japanese car company. If you went by the logic that it is partly owned by Ford then Subarus, Volvos, Saabs, and so forth. Kinda ruins the "Domestic" angle.

At least get it right if you are gonna say who Ford partly owns. Saab and Subaru are partly owned by GM. (Not so much Subaru anymore)
Plus I would consider the newer Volvo stuff to be mostly Ford anyway since they are based on Ford platforms. However, my Volvo is not a Ford, it was still made in Sweden in 2001.

That is what I meant, but my brain works differently from my fingers sometimes. Anyway, you catch my drift.

I get what you are trying to say but it still doesn't make too much sense. Even though Ford only partly owns a company, in this case Mazda, they have a HUGE influence in the car design. When a car is based on a domestic platform I would consider it a domestic car for the most part, even if it still carries the Japanese name.

Guess what. It still isn't a Ford. Therefore...

It does not carry a ford badge, but many of the Mazda's are based on the Ford CD3 platform. So in my book that is a Ford with a different badge.
