It would be close ... give him some space and be ready to hand him any tool he might need, and he probably could get it done in nearly an hour

About this lift ... wouldn't it be cheaper to pay the 1 hour of shop time to put the car into rolling condition vs. paying for an unused lift for a week? If you are dropping the subframe, it can all go back together within 30-45 minutes if it's on a lift in a garage ... in your driveway, probably 2 hours or less.

Yes. I told my dad to talk to them about doing that. I'm not sure what came of it as I have not talked to him recently. Even so, we are now back to the original question who should be paying for that extra time? I personally don't think it should be my dad/brother, but then again I'm bias hence the post. Trying to get everyones opinion on the matter.

It's a catch 22 and I doubt that you can get anyone else to pay for the screwup. Yes, they screwed up and sent the wrong trans and yes, you guys screwed up and supplied the shop with the wrong trans (unknowingly) and Yes, the shop you are taking this to is full of pricks! Good luck!

That pretty much sums it up. You are going to be responsible for the extra cost. The shop isn't at any fault here, they didn't do anything messed up. The wrong trans was shipped, so in the end the only people that should be responsible are those who shipped it. And I'm sure they have some sort of a disclaimer on if the wrong part is shipped. Bottom line, your out of luck.

Just got some updated news. We are in good standing with the Transmission shop, we have brought them a lot of business over the years. They are understanding with the situation and apparently it has happen before with other customers. They realize that it isn't my dad's/brother's fault for the mixup and it sounds as if they are not going to charge them anything for taking up the hoist.

That would be the BAT transmission. Should have just ordered it straight from there since it's in the US. The boarder seems to muck everything up even though it seems it didn't this time but shipping does take longer I'm sure going through customs.
