No, but I had good English teachers back in the day. I just find most of the online slang to be rediculous and often it is extremely difficult to read. I also don't understand people using it when it is often more difficult and time consuming to type the slang rather than just spell the word correctly.

American English is so bastardized already that I guess I just hate to see it degrade further.

That's my main reason for not liking the slang usage. As far as general misspelling (the occasional typo aside), with spell-checkers everywhere and dictionary.com being a simple click away, it's just plain lazy to leave spelling errors in one's text.

Call it a MAJOR pet peeve of mine.
