Hey guys. My keys started to get stuck in the ignition from time to time recently, and considering the heat today I just don't feel like sitting in there and fiddling around til they come out.

It's just a matter of the keys not being able to be removed- they are stuck just past off but not quite to the point where the key lines up to be pulled out.

I just ran a few searches, and found a few useful threads- mostly pertaining to the IC itself. I really hope I don't have to drill these keys out when they're eventually stuck permanently.

I'm trying not to spend any more money on this car. Thanks in advance, everyone.

Did you try putting in some PB Blaster or WD 40 to lube it?

Use a proper graphite-based lock lube.

Mine was acting up a few years ago, lubed it then, and it's still working smoothly.

Of course, my starter decided today that it didn't want to....

I'll see if I can pick some up tomorrow.

I managed to get the keys out half an hour after I posted this. I started the car up, jockeyed it back and forth, parked it and voila, the keys came out fine. It is almost as if it is completely random, moreso than the IC being stuck from non lubrication.
