Actually, the byproduct is glycerine, which is essentially soap. Adding the alcohol/(NAOH or KOH) mixture removes the glycerine from the oil, leaving bio. You can use the glycerine byproduct to make soap. It is quite cool to know that every part of the oil can be used for something. I would like to make it but I have no use for it as I do not have a diesel.




That's actually really good information!

Someone can start some weird company that collects grease from fatty restaurants, makes biodiesel fuel, and makes soap.
