Its been costing me to fill the Contour full about $35-$40 for mid-grade(89 octane).
I like the whole Biodiesel thing too... Between E-85 and Biodiesel, we should be self-sufficient. The manufacture of biodiesel wouldn't be nearly effective in Europe due to their lack of Fast food restaurants.

Gas on base is costing me $0.86/L for premium (RON=98; E+M/2=93). So $3.27/gal. I usually fill ~40L from 1/4 tank to full.
Off base it's 1.42ââ??¬/L for premium. So 5.40ââ??¬/gal = $6.83/gal.
Holy sh*tballs... and I've had to get gas off base a couple of times

I wouldnt call it baseless.
And honestly, the raising gas prices is probably what this country needs to curb its hunger for overly large vehicles. At least this trend is getting auto makers and Americans thinking about the future, before its an absolute necessity.

I would. There is adequate supply and no reason that is will not remain adequate through the contract period. The whole Isreal/Lebanon thing is completely irrelevant to oil.
Even Chavez believes a proper price is in the mid-50's and Steve Forbes believes low $40's. That is $20-$30 excessive for no rational reason.
