It sucks, but can be done. Drove and delivered pizza in my 1984 Monte Carlo SS w/open diff in the winter of 2000/2001 back in Iowa (one of the only times they had to actually use the emergency snow routes and tow people's cars).
It's actually not that bad, especially up north. There's not many hills up here, so it's pretty easy. I'd say you'd be fine, especially since you can always go with Trac Control when you're feeling lazy with most of those vehicles. And CO only usually gets about 14-20 days of really tough driving due to snow conditions, so I'd say those other days of the year in a beautifully powered and built RWD would more than make up for it.
