Personally, I think NASCAR is going to alienate its true fan base by some of these moves. The only reasons some of these drivers are coming is for the money, period. Otherwise, people like Tony Stewart, Casey Mears, etc would still be in open wheeled cars.

I agree. They will also alienate their fanbase with the introduction of the Toyota and Honda brands in the coming years. I don't think it's good for the sport, but we'll see what happens i guess.

I don't think the cars are a big deal because there isn't anything different between them besides the skin. Now, if it were like the good ol' days when the engines were brand specific, etc, then there would be more outrage.
