Hey all, long time no post. Seems my car has been good to me up until now, 63,000 miles and I notice a pretty severe water leak in my trunk, at first I thought it was just the trunk seal as I only noticed it on my trunk deck but today I discovered my passenger tail light was filled to the brim with water, I took it out and it appears that the seal around the light itself might be bad? it is all dried out in one area and pushed back.

I was wondering what were my options, I drained the light and reinstalled it but next storm I know I will be getting water in...do they sell just the seal? do I need a whole new light, and or should I use silicon.

any options appreciated, thanks

Sure. Or use black RTV sealant.

I need to do this myself - the part on the trunk lid is flooded and it's funny to see the water slosh around, but damn does it look ghetto!

Hey, thanks all for the suggestions, I picked up a pair of bulbs and the RTV today, disassembled the whole thing only to discover I was wrong, it isn't the gasket which caused the leak but rather there is a crack on the inside of the housing, I used the RTV to fill the crack for now but will try to see if there are some aftermarket replacement tail lights or something as I don't know if this repair will last.

Thanks again.

Send a PM to ChattervegasSE or Bike2112. They might have some used parts for sale.
