I find that hard to believe. 154 ain't that much for a newer car and should not be any more unsafe in an impala as it would be in any other regular street car. If it feels somewhat floaty, well, it is an impala... and by the time you reach 150+ either the crook or the cop will probably have wrecked by then due to operator error, so it doesn't matter if the car can take it.
