I used to "try" and keep Cichlids but they all killed the other fish or other Cichlids until there was only one left. After that I gave up on them, stopped feeding him and maintaining the tank. Come back weeks later and he is still perfectly healthy. I started getting into Goldfish and gave my Cichlid to my friend, who got other same sized Cichlids to go with him, and after about 3 weeks, my fish I gave him was the only one left again. He just kills everything and will not die! LOL
