I had that happen to me some time ago. I was driving and it was in the city and then I see smoke coming from the hood, and thought, hmm? I go home and look under and didn't notice anything too out of place. I then realized I did an oil change not too long ago and drove to my father's house where he has the tools and checked and tightened the filter.

Just as you said, not too bad at all.
